Happinet to Publish Ferocious Feline Action-adventure, Sa[meow]rai: Silverwing Stray on PC in Spring 2027
Now Playable with a Free Demo in the Steam Tokyo Game Show 2026 Event, Featuring First Three Levels, and with an Exclusive Demo at Tokyo Game Show
TOKYO – Sept. 10, 2026 – Happinet today announced the addition of Sa[meow]rai: Silverwing Stray, created by independent developer Gouhong Studio, to their “Happinet Indie Collection” label. The top-down, action-adventure pixel art title set in a futuristic cyberpunk city is currently in development for PC via Steam, and is available for Wishlisting with a target release in spring 2027.

Curious cats can get paws-on with the game with a free demo available for download on Steam as part of the Steam Tokyo Game Show 2026 event. The demo features the first three chapters across three distinct regions, with dozens of combat encounters and a climactic boss battle. Players will have six weapons at their disposal in these chapters, including a mixture of some that can be purchased from vendors and some that must be discovered by following clues from some of the 10 NPC characters players will encounter in the early narrative.
Additionally, Happinet will be present at Tokyo Game Show from Sept. 17-21 with a show-exclusive demo in their booth, Hall9/Indie Game Corner E63. The action-focused demo will feature a “10-Minute Challenge” testing how far players can progress through two levels of combat only available on the show floor. Clearing both stages will reward players with an original mouse pad featuring art from the game or an umbrella charm, clearing the first stage will reward players with an umbrella charm and all participants will receive a free pocket tissue pack while supplies last.
Play as a cyber vigilante haunted by past events and regret, embarking on a thrilling and solitary path of vengeance. In the conspiracy-laden futuristic metropolis of StillFlow City, tensions between the police and corporations are on the verge of eruption. Players will encounter a diverse cast of intriguing characters, each with their own unique traits. Will players help them fulfill their desires, or betray them to achieve their own goals? What kinds of weapons do the various factions and underworld figures entangled in war and conspiracy wield? Follow the story and the guidance of different characters to uncover legendary weapons hidden throughout the world!
Key Game Features:
- One-hit Kill & High-speed Combat: Fight for every second of survival, wielding an array of deadly weapons against ruthless foes. Stay mobile to dodge gunfire, rockets and more or send their attacks back at them with a well-timed parry. Electronic devices and other objects in the environment can also be used to turn the tides of battle or lure enemies into a trap.
- Hand-drawn Comic-style Cutscenes & Pixel-art World: Experience a mixture of top-down, hand-crafted pixel-art world with a CRT-style presentation during gameplay segments, enhancing the cyberpunk atmosphere and comic-style narrative sequences. Each hand-drawn narrative panel tells more of the story and bridges the gap between levels.
- Rewind Time and Try, Try Again: As a former member of the ‘Gyakugawa’ Tactical Unit players have access to an implanted temporal reboot device – a neural chip that rewinds time upon fatal injury.
- A Dystopian Cyberpunk Narrative with Branching Storylines: Sa[meow]rai: Silverwing Stray tells the story of a cyber vigilante haunted by past events and regret, embarking on a thrilling and solitary path of vengeance against ruthless gangs and mega-corporations alike. Numerous story branches and hidden plots await discovery by the player.
