Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising Legendary Edition and Version 2.60 Update Arrive Sept. 17

New Playable Character Id and Nintendo Switch™ 2 Version Arrive Same Day

TOKYO — Sept. 17, 2026 — Video game publisher and developer Cygames, Inc. (HQ: Shibuya, Tokyo; President: Koichi Watanabe, hereinafter referred to as “Cygames”) has released an update to the fighting game Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising (GBVSR), along with Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising Legendary Edition (Legendary Edition) developed by Arc System Works Co., Ltd. for the Nintendo Switch 2™ system, PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4 and Steam platforms. Additionally, Cygames has announced price changes for certain products effective the same day, as well as the discontinuation of sales and distribution for other products.

Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising Legendary Edition Available NowThe Legendary Edition of GBVSR includes the base game and character colors, costumes, premium avatars and a stage from Deluxe Character Pass Part 1 and Deluxe Character Pass Part 2, in addition to the character set for the newest addition to the roster, Id. It’s the perfect entry point for anyone looking to enjoy the complete GBVSR experience!

The Deluxe Character Passes and Character Set included with the PlayStation® versions of the Legendary Edition come with in-game bonuses for the original Granblue Fantasy mobile game. Pre-order and Early Purchase Bonus: Sandalphon’s Reverent Attire Costume

Pre-orders and early purchases of the Legendary Edition will also include the bonus character costume Reverent Attire for Sandalphon, which he can don in battle or in the Figure Studio. This purchase bonus is available until 6:59 a.m., Jan. 12, 2027 (PT), and is planned to be sold separately after the purchase bonus period has ended. Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok Save Data Link Bonus

By linking existing save data from GBVSR and Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok on the same platform, players will be able to receive a variety of bonuses in both games.

Three new weapon skin bundles are available to purchase as DLC and from the in-game Rupie Shop.

Premium Battle Pass Rewards Runback

Character colors, costumes and weapon skins previously released as Premium Battle Pass rewards are now available to purchase as DLC and from the in-game Rupie Shop.

Price Adjustments and Version Availability

To make it even easier for players to jump into GBVSR, a new price of $24.99 for the Standard Edition on PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4 and Steam®, will be effective starting Thursday, Sept. 17, 2026. Please also note that the Deluxe Edition will no longer be available effective the same day.

Additionally, the Free Edition will no longer be available for download and will no longer be playable if already downloaded starting at 8 a.m. PT on Nov. 1, 2026. Save data from the Free Edition will still be transferable to the full retail version of the game even after service ends.

Legendary Edition Launch Celebration

To celebrate the launch of the Legendary Edition, the official Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising X account is running a promotional giveaway from Sept. 17 – Sept. 23, 2026.
