Limited Run Games Announces ‘Press Run’
Book Publishing Imprint Led by Former
Games Journalists, Jeremy Parish and Jared Petty
From Retrospective Deep Dives to the History of Beloved Video Game Publishers, ‘Press Run’ Aims to Offer Good Reads to Gamers
APEX, N.C. – Sept. 29, 2022 – Limited Run Games, pioneers dedicated to the preservation of classic, current, and influential games in the physical format, announced today the launch of the company’s new book publishing imprint, Press Run. Led by former games journalists Jeremy Parish (1Up Network, USgamer, IGN, Retronauts) and Jared Petty (IGN, Kinda Funny, Electronic Arts), Press Run will publish new, high quality books on video games and game-adjacent topics on a monthly basis, starting today. Designed from the ground up as an exclusive print label for both original publications from the Limited Run Games team and talented authors around the world, Press Run aims to publish good reads for gamers looking for more than the usual latest-release discourse.
“Our long-term goal with Press Run is to create an ever-growing library of great books covering a wide array of topics, across a variety of formats and styles by a diverse lineup of authors,” said Press Run Media Curator Jeremy Parish. “Press Run will exist to keep great books in circulation for as long as people want to have them.”
“Readers searching for meaningful, informed, and entertaining stories by great writers will find a lot to love in Press Run books,” said Press Run Senior Editor and Project Manager Jared Petty. “We’re helping authors share their passion for games with larger audiences… it’s a thrill to get up every day and be a small part of that process.”
Press Run will offer its new books for sale once they have finished production and are ready to ship to customers. Press Run books will uphold the gold standard that Limited Run Games is known for with their products. Additionally, some books will be produced and made available as limited collector’s editions, while the basic editions of every published book will continue to circulate for as long as demand exists, providing the treatment, legacy, and preservation Press Run editors and Limited Run Games staff feel these works deserve.
